Equestrian team from Damxung County of Tibet is ready for horse show during the 2011 Lhasa Shoton Festival on August 30, 2011. [Photo/China Tibet Online]
The horse show, a traditional activity during the Shoton Festival, was held in the race course of Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, August 30, 2011.
A team of 13 herdsmen from Damxung County of Lhasa participated in the performance this year. Young as they are, their performance was excellent and won rounds of applause.
The annual horse show is the favorite event among ordinary Tibetans. There are many items including single-person-single-horse, archery on horse, double-men-double-horse, shooting on horse, flower-basket-picking on horse and so on.
These breathtaking performances reveal athletes' superb technique and excellent psychological quality, and have been well received by the public and tourists in attendance.
