"Shoton Festival" fireworks light the Potala Palace

An opening ceremony gala of Lhasa Shoton Festival 2011was held at 8:30pm on August 29 in Lhasa. This year's opening ceremony has a larger scale than before in terms of the number of participants and stage effect.

According to the official resource, over one thousand people attended the opening ceremony, including more than 20 mayors who have attended the City Forum in Lhasa, staff officers from units directly affiliated to Lhasa City, and city residents. LED display screen and cooling fireworks were used to produce effects of sound and light.
