Sponsored by Shigaste TV station, a gala titled "Yarlung Zangbo River's glee song" was held on Jan. 26, 2011 to celebrate the upcoming "Farmers' New Year" and "Chinese Lunar New Year", which happen to fall on the same day this year. Professional singers and dancers as well as local farmers gave performances at the gala.
