On May 23, the 60 anniversary of peaceful liberation of Tibet, a Tibetan folk drama titled 'Tears of Serfs' was staged in the evening to celebrate the great day of Tibet.

A total of 31 farmers and herders from Lhoka presented this self-directed drama to commemorate the grand festival.

The drama tells a real story of a serf named Trinley Dorje. The tragedy of the six family members living as serfs at a manor before the democratic reform in Tibet moved the audience for the whole evening.

"For young people, this is a good drama for them to know more about the past and the happy life today."said Tenpa, a citizen of Lhasa.

"I feel really sad about the miserable life of serfs in the old time. I used to learn the stories at class, but I did't realize that it was so miserable till I saw the drama. I really think we have a good and happy life. " said Phurbu La Dzong, student of Lhasa No.7 Millde School.
