NAGCHU, Tibet, Sept.9 (China Tibet Online) The Nagchu Logistics Center of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway is about five kilometers away from the south of Nagchu Town of Nagchu Prefecture, Tibet.
Centered on the Nagchu Railway Station of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the logistics center is 7km long and 1.5km wide, covering an area of 8000 mus with a total investment of 1,460 million yuan (about 238.7 million U.S. dollars).
It began the construction in September 2007 and was put into operation after completed in August 2009. It is mainly composed of six functional zones, including comprehensive logistics zone, petroleum products logistics zone, bulk goods and stack-loading freight logistics zone, hazardous article logistics zone, production and processing logistics zone and living quarters.
The Nagchu Logistics Center is the largest and fully functional logistic center in Tibet by far.
