The beautiful natural scenery of Tibet attracts visitors, so do the Tibetan style plaits.

Braid has been a popular hair style since ancient Tibet for both Tibetan men and women. A local saying goes, "only letting one's hair growing without cutting will one turn to somebody in the future."

Especially for Tibetan women, their hair will be braided into many plaits with various kinds of accessories, including amber, coral, agate, turquoise and etc.

In old Tibet, the decorated hair of girl from rich family would weigh 20 to 30 kilos whereas the poor women would have to buy metal pieces for making up.
