Monks debate on Tibetan Buddhism sutra

Lamas from two Tibetan Buddhism branches, Gelug and Sakya, attend the debates on the sutra of Tibetan Buddhism at the Advanced Tibetan Buddhism College of China in Beijing on Nov 28th, 2012.

Sutra debating is an indispensible procedure for lamas to get the Tibetan Buddhism advanced degree.

The debates on Tibetan Buddhist sutra last from Nov 28th to Dec 2nd. Lamas would be matched in pairs before the debate starts. During the debate, the questioner stands in the middle and raises questions while the responder answers in his seat, sitting in front of the judges while facing all the attendants.
