Chinese Tibetologists exchanged ideas on culture, history and economic development in China's Tibet Autonomous Region with South African diplomatic officials.
Jigme Wangcog, Secretaty-General of the Foreign Cultural Exchange Association of the Tibet Autonomous Region, introduced the achievements of local economy, social progress, culture, and welfare construction, to officials from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the foreign ministry of South Africa.
Wangcog, who heads the Tibetan cultural exchange delegation, expressed appreciation for South African government's stance on issues related to China's Tibet.
The director of the office dealing with affairs related to China said that the visit of Tibetologist delegation helped South Africa to know better the status quo of Tibet.
Arrived in South Africa on June 27, the Chinese Tibetologist delegation would exchange with local media and scholars on Tibetan culture on June 28, and would have a seminar with South African lawmakers on June 29, in the capital city Pretoria.
