The art of wood and stone in Ya'an Houses

Ya'an city is an emerging tourist destination in southwest China's Sichuan Province. Located adjacent to the Tibet plateau, the city has a mixed population of ethnic groups. The diversified culture is shown in many aspects of local life among which architecture is the most evident. Exquisite stone and wood carvings are the two greatest features of houses in Ya'an as shown in a group of photos taken by CRI reporters. [Photo:CRIENGLISH.com]
