Medical experts offer free consultation for monks at the Samye Monastery during a volunteer science popularization activity on Feb.5, 2012. [Photo/XZSNW.com]
Samye Monastery, Tibet's oldest Buddhist monastery received free medical consultation offered by volunteers from Shannan Prefecture on Feb. 5, 2012.
Medical expert Paseng Lhundrup from the prefectural Tibetan Hospital gave a practical lecture on high blood pressure, diabetes and phthisic which are closely related to the daily dining habits of ordinary monks.
Aside from medical consulting, a selection of scientific books and brochures were also handed out for free.
Helpful scientific knowledge in both Tibetan and Mandarin were demonstrated on poster boards, attracting a large audience in the monastery.
