Buddhist dance performance held in Labrang Monastery

Tibetans watch the dance performance in the Labrang Monastery in Xiahe County, northwest China's Gansu Province, Feb. 5, 2012. Labrang Monastery held a Buddhist dance performance on Sunday, the 14th day of the first month in the traditional lunar calendar. The important event is held to pray for an auspicious new year. Labrang Monastery, built in 1709, is home to more than 1,000 lamas and is one of six prestigious monasteries of the Gelugpa, also known as the Yellow Hat Sect, of Tibetan Buddhism.
