Eight most beautiful "cos" in Tibet

"Co" means lakes In Tibetan language. According to local legends, those cos are the embodiment of gods.

Nam Co Lake is world's highest saltwater lake with the elevation of 4718 meters and the largest lake in Tibet. It means "Heaven Lake" in Tibetan language.

There are many small streams flowing into the lake. Nam Co Lake is supplied with the melting snow and ice from the Nyainqentanglha Mountain. The water is as clear as the sky.  Walking along the lake is just like walking in heaven.

Basum Co is also known as Conggo Lake. "Conggo" means green water in Tibetan language.

The crescent-shaped lake is located among mountains. Compared with the gorgeous lakes like Nam Co, the Basum Co is tranquil and serene with the surrounding dark green pines and firs. A visitor will forget all the earthly troubles and get drunk with the natural beauty here.
