Lhasa received the honor title of "National City with Cultural and Ethical Advancement" at the national commendation conference of culture and ethics building held in Beijing, capital of China on Dec. 20, 2011.

Lhasa's senior officials brought the prize back and received a welcome ceremony to celebrate the honor at Lhasa's Gonggar Airport on Dec. 25.

"It's a lofty honor for Lhasa and even for Tibet," said Dorje Tsedrup, mayor of Lhasa. "The honor implies that with Lhasa as capital, Tibet's social harmonious condition is widely recognized."

Dorje Tsedrup simply reviewed the experience of Lhasa developing into a national advanced city in culture and ethics, and called for pushing Lhasa's moral and ethical situation to a new stage.

"In the future, we should work harder to create a harmonious atmosphere in order to realize Lhasa's leap-forward development and long-term stability," said Dorje Tsedrup.
