For the famers in Tibet, now life gets better in a broader sense, not only just in the economic and social sectors, but also in culture and arts.

Isn't it satisfactory for one to dance when he or she wants to dance, to sing when he or she wants to sing? Besides, artistic pursuit earns ascending income for the talented Tibetans.

The long-cherished Duixie dance has been dubbed as the "Tibetan Flamenco" with its distinctive musical dancing performances.

The dance type has formed and developed from the self-entertained Tibetan Gorshie dance, extensively favored across the entire region, especially in the Shigatse area.

And the county of Lhatse is regarded as the "hometown of Duixie", considering the popularity and grassroots foundation of the dance among local commons.

Early in 2005, Lhatse witnessed the founding of its first Farmer Art Troupe, with all singers and dancers from the countryside field.

Shortly after the troupe was organized, the natural singers and dancers first gave successful performance in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, and later performed in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China.

On the CCTV Spring Festival Gala in 2007, the Lhatse Farmer Art Troupe attracted hundreds of millions of audiences by the unique artistic charms of Duixie. From then on, the Tibetan dance has become prestigiously popular across the country.

In 2008, Lhatse Duixie was inscribed into the list of national intangible cultural heritage. The troupe has also been invited to give performances nationwide, with its impact gradually expanded.

At present, each member now earns around 15, 000 yuan net by staging "Duixie" performance every year.
