Famous for the ancient Kanam Gyalpo and unique ecological scenery, Kanam village is approved as a "national ecological and cultural village" by the end of 2010.
Kanam village has altogether 82 peasant households, with 422 people now cultivating an overall agricultural acreage of 605 mu. Local villagers mainly work out a cozy living on agriculture, transportation, plantation and forest resources gathering.
Thanks to the aid of Guangdong Province, Kanam now stands as a model village at Gu, Bome County in Nyingchi Prefecture.
