Tibetan antelopes start to return home

Many female Tibetan antelopes have started to return home to the Sokya Chuma River Preservation Area, after giving birth near Zonag Lake, in Hoh Xil. The Sokya Chuma is one of the largest Tibetan antelope reserves.

A few antelopes were spotted along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, in the Wu-dao-liang Protection area. The antelopes have to use this route to return to their habitat. Each group of antelopes has a leader, that ensures the safety of the group, especially when crossing the highway.
