The Beijing Municipal Government planned to aid the construction of Lhasa's first children's theme park, as Beijing Aid-Tibet Headquarters officials reported.
In the report, the project plan was presented and discussed in details. The theme park will be located in southwestern Lhasa's Liuwu New District, temporarily named "Lhasa Deji Rob Children's Theme Park".
The theme park will cover an area of 40,000 square meters with 50 million yuan invested jointly by Beijing Capital Tourism Group and the Beijing Aid Tibet Headquarters.
With the concepts of modern, high-tech and interaction in the design, the park will be laid out into two parts: the outdoor sunshine valley and the indoor trumpet shell house.
Expected to open on June of 1, 2013, the park is estimated to receive 10,000 visitors every year.
Ma Xin, deputy mayor of Lhasa and vice director of the Beijing-Aid-Tibet team said that this theme park will be a gift for kids from Tibet and Beijing to better know each other.
As the first theme park for children in Tibet, the facilities will enrich their extra-curricular acitivities and will also increase Lhasa's tourist resources.
