During the summer holiday, many students will go travelling or participate in different variety of summer camps. One of the places kids love to go is the 3rd Aerospace Summer Camp. This year, the camp in the capital has welcomed over 100 guests from the Tibetan Autonomous Region.
The Tibetan youth visited the Aerospace Museum in Beijing to learn more about the aeronautic industry in China.
"I haven't seen a rocket before, except on TV or in pictures. It's different from what I thought."
Those students have all come from the same primary school in Northwest China's Gansu Province. Most of them haven't been to Beijing before.
"I want to see the Great Wall"
"I haven't been to Beijing. I want to go to the Tian'anmen Square."
Since 2007, the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology began offering help to this school. Meanwhile, the Academy's summer camp has opened a window for the children to learn more about the Aeronautic industry and Beijing.
Liang Xiaohong, deputy head from China Acadamy of Launch Vehicle Technology said, "These students will visit Beijing during their last two years in primary school. Also, we helped repair part of their school and sent them books to improve their learning environment. We want to contribute what we can for them."
The 5-day summer camp will take students not only to the Great Wall and Tian'anmen Square, but to other famous sites such as the Forbidden City and the Water Cube.
