Sitting behind her loom, Lhadron is weaving cotton cloth skillfully. The cloth she is making was ordered for local women to tailor make Kongpo clothes.

Lhadron is over 60 years old, who lives with her daughter's family in Zhongguo Village, Bayi Town of Nyingchi County. Lhadron's daughter has married and has three kids. The whole family has altogether six people.

"My son-in-law is a driver and he is busy," said Lhadron. Then pointing at the certificates of  awards on the wall,  she said proudly: "My oldest grandson studies in the middle school of the town, he studies very hard and gets good marks."

Supper time is the happiest hour of the day, and the whole family will gather to watch TV. "I like Tibet TV Channel 1," Lhadron laughed.

Lhadron's family now works on 22 mu of farmland and raises 19 cows and eighty sheep. In the daytime, the old lady sometimes helps her daughter farming and sometimes weaving cotton cloth.

Lhadron earns around 5,000 to 6,000 yuan a year by weaving. "It is my interest to weave cloth," smiled Lhadron.

The income of Lhadron's family is in the middle-level compared to the richest family in Zhongguo village who raises more than 100 cows and 300 sheep, and owns several trucks and cars.

Nyima, the village head, said that each villager makes around 6,890 yuan on average.
