Tibetan students visit Yantai

Ten students from Nyalam Middle School of Nyalam county, Tibet autonomous region arrived in Yantai on August 3 to visit the city and exchange notes with local students.

During the week-long tour, the Tibetan students were invited to visit the Yantai No.2 Middle School, Yantai University and Ludong University. They also traveled around the city to enjoy Yantai's charming cityscape.

The exchange program aimed to facilitate the communication for students and teachers of the two sides.

As part of Yantai's support program for Tibet, the activity has been held for two consecutive years. Yantai has set up a scholarship in Nyalam Middle School and selects eight to ten students each year to visit Yantai.

"This is the first time for me to see the sea, which is just in front of my hotel," said one of the Tibetan students excitedly.

Shi Xiaojian, vice president of Nyalam Middle School hoped that, "Because of the visit, more students and teachers of Yantai will know Nyalam, while it will also help students from Nyalam to broaden their horizons and study harder in future."
