Recently Chinese Tibetan Study Experts Delegation has visited Russia in order to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet and introduce great achievements gained after the Liberation in Tibetan Autonomous Region.
On June 13th, 2001 chairman of the Committee of National Policy of Russian Duma met the Delegation. Li Guoqing, leader of the Delegation introduced great changes happened in Tibetan Autonomous Region in these 50 years and the national and religious policy of China. Russian side said that the issue of Tibet belongs to the Chinese interior, therefore it should be solved by Chinese people themselves.
On June 14th, 2001 the Delegation met Hanbo Lama of the Association of Traditional Buddhism of Russia. Hanbo Lama expressed that this was the first time he met Chinese official delegation and he was very much interested in Tibetan Buddhism. He expressed the same standpoint as chairman of the Committee of National Policy of Russian Duma on Tibetan issue.
On June 15th, 2001 the Delegation gave a report named the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet and Great Achievements in 50 Years in the Institute of Far East of Russian Science Academy. The Delegation also criticized Dalai Lama.
